Insurance
The Insurance Agency for the ASA and AASA is Bollinger Insurance, located in New Jersey.  They offer various types of coverage, including liability, accident, dismemberment, and life.  All relate to playing or traveling to a softball event. They also have Facility coverage which is purchased by many cities who have ASA play. 

The different types of coverage have varying amounts of coverage and deductibles as Bollinger Insurance gives great effort to meet your needs.

*Please Note:  Teams who have received a berth to an ASA National Tournament MUST participate in the appropriate AASA District and State Tournaments.

Worth Balls
The official ball for all Alabama ASA tournaments is the WORTH BALL.  It is a very good product and the company is very supportive of our Alabama programs.  Please be encouraged to purchase this ball.  Contact Al Murray or any of the District Commissioners for more information.

Ragland Screen Printing

Classification
The Adult classification list for Alabama ASA can be found on the ASA Website. 

Any player that is moved up by the Alabama ASA from the State Tournaments will remain at that level for a minimum of 2 years.  If the player does not play in that class he will not be eligible for appealing back to the lower level.

For players that are reclassified by the National Office from National Tournaments he must meet the National requirements before consideration for reclassing.

Alabama ASA 6 & Under Girls' Softball Rules

1.  Coaches:
A.  One defensive coach will be allowed on the field during play and may
be stationed behind the pitching rubber.  No other defensive coaches
are allowed on the field.

2.  Field:
A.  Base Distance  55 feet
B.  Hash-Marks will be placed half-way between first and second base,            second and third, third and home plate.                                                         
C.  An arc stretching from foul line to foul line eight feet in front of the
plate is drawn and used as an additional foul line.  The ball must pass
this line to be considered a fair batted ball.
D.  A circle with an 8 ft. radius will be drawn around the pitching rubber
which is 35 feet from home plate.

3.  Batting:
A.  Each batter will get three pitches from a coach.  If the player does not
hit the ball on the 3 pitches then she will be given two swings at the ball
froma tee.
B.  A team may bat 10 players in an inning or 3 outs, whichever occurs
first.  A team may use 10 or 11 players (EP) in the lineup, but only 10
may bat in any inning.
C.  No infield fly.

4.  Base Running:
A.  Time is called when:  the ball is returned to the pitcher who is stopped
in the pitching circle.  Time will be called and any base runner that has
gained the hash-mark can continue to advance to the next base.
B.  Time is also called when the ball is returned to the infield and is in
control of a defensive player and no one was attempting to advance.
C.  Any base runner that has not gained the hash-mark has to return to
their previous base, unless forced by the batter becoming a base runner.
D.  If the coach interferes with a defensive play, the runner closest to
home plate will be called out and no runners can advance.

5.  Equipment:
A.  Games are played with an 11 inch fast-pitch softball.

6.  Games:
A.  A game is complete after 6 innings of play, expiration of a 70 minute
time limit, or shortened by the ASA run rule for fast pitch whichever
comes first.
