The Alabama ASA developed the Point System to reward the teams that Register with the Alabama ASA and play in the ASA Tournaments.
Point System will begin in 2008 with the State Tournament.
Exception: Each team that registers through Register ASA will receive their 75 points this year. Also, Coach's that complete the online ACE Training Certification will get their team points this year (see #6 below).
How will it work:
1. A team must be registered with Alabama ASA to receive points. To receive the 75 points a team must register on-line through the Register ASA Program.
2. Point totals begin with the Alabama ASA State Tournament and end on July 1 of following year.
3. The total of points will be kept on line by the Alabama ASA State Office. It is the responsibility of the coach to insure his/her team's points are up to date.
How to Earn Points:
1. A team that plays in an Alabama ASA Invitational Tournament during the year will be awarded 100 points for each tournament.
2. A team that plays in the qualifiers that are conducted in Alabama will be awarded 150 points for each qualifier.
3. An Alabama ASA team that plays in any out of state qualifier will be awarded 100 points. Coach is responsible for reporting team's participation and must forward to the Alabama ASA Office a copy of the tournament bracket.
4. A team that participates in the Alabama ASA State Tournament will be awarded 150 points.
5. A team will receive 75 points when they register with Alabama ASA.
6. Coaches can earn points for their team by completing the on-line ACE Coaching Certification Program. Their are 4 levels to the program, each level will be worth 25 points for a total of 100 points. An additional 50 points will be awarded if all 4 levels are completed by May 1 of the current year. Points may be earn by only two coaches per team.
What teams will receive for points:
1. 1,000 Points 50% of State Tournament entry fee paid
2. 1,500 PointsState Tournament entry fee paid
3. 2,000 Points (FP "A" Travel Teams) 50% of National Tournament entry fee paid
